Embroidery is one of the traditional handicrafts that has been part of centuries-old Armenian cultural identity along with carpet weaving, miniature painting, and stone carving. 

Prayers of Saint Gregory of Narek, signifying healing and protection, illustrated in a twelfth-century manuscript, the floor plan of Aghtamar's Holy Cross church, and embroidered needlework are the inspirations of this design.
